Greeting Card and Invitation Sizes

We offer three different sizes of card stock and envelopes. Rather than confuse anyone too much by constantly referring to the actual height and width dimensions, we have chosen to refer to the sizes by the Envelope "A" rating, supplying the actual dimensions as a reminder. The paper and envelope sizes we recommend and have available are:

• A2 : Each card is 4.25 inches by 5.5 inches in height and width and will fit in a standard A2 size envelope. As with all of our card sizes the dimensions remain the same but the alignment can be flipped 90 degrees (eg 5.5 height by 4.25 width) depending upon if you choose to use a Vertical or Horizontal alingment for your card or invitation. This size is what most would consider a typical Invitation sized card. These invitations come as two cards per sheet, with the paper perforated where the cards separate. And of course the paper is also scored where the card folds.

  To see an approximation of this size take a standard sheet of 8.5 x 11 sheet of copying/printer paper and fold it in half lengthwise. Then fold it again from the original width so that the paper is quartered. What you see would be the size of the front, and the inside would be the same as if you open the first fold.
  
  

• A7 : The overall dimensions of these cards are 5 inches by 7 inches, and they fit in an A7 envelope. These are what would typically be referred to as a Normal sized greeting card, scored for easy folding. These are shipped as one card per sheet of paper, which has been cut to size.
  
  
• A9 : A9 is the largest size available, coming in with overall dimensions of 5.5 inches by 8.5 inches. When folded along the score they fit in a standard A9 size envelope. These are what most people would recognize as a Large size greeting card, and come one card to a sheet. This is about as large as you can go and still qualify for standard first class postage rates. To see what this size looks like take a standard 8.5 x 11 sheet of printer paper and fold it in half lengthwise.

Every card design can be made in any of the three base sizes since Make-A-Card will automatically rotate and resize the card elements as necessary. Every creation can also be placed to create a Vertical or Horizontal design. The only thing you need to worry about when making your card is to tell the Make-A-Card engine which size and alignment you need.

As noted above, all of our card stock is pre-scored where the fold should occur so that you do not have to struggle to make the perfect fold. The smaller A2 Invitation sizes are also perforated for easy separation.
